Moscow:
The Kremlin said on Tuesday that Ukraine had not responded to many offers of the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to begin the direct peace negotiations, and that it was not clear if he would join a high three -day fire he has announced for the next month.
“It was President Putin who repeatedly said that Russia is ready, without previous conditions, to begin the negotiation process,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. “We have not heard a response from the kyiv regime so far.”
Putin declared on Monday a three -day fire in the war in Ukraine from May 8 to 10, when Russia plans luxurious celebrations to commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
Ukraine, in response, questioned why Moscow would not accept his call to a high fire that lasts at least 30 days and began immediately.
“We value the lives of people and not the parades,” President Volodymr Zelenskiy said.
Peskov said it was “very difficult to understand” if Ukraine intended to join the fire.
