Sir Elton John says he is “tolted” after marked the 10th number one album in the United Kingdom of his career.
Who believes in the angels?, A collaboration with the star of the American country Brandi Carlile, exceeded the charts 52 years after the first number one of the star.
“It seems quite extraordinary that my career lasted so long,” Sir Elton told the BBC.
“It is always good to exceed a graphic, it doesn’t matter where it is. And with this album, I’m particularly delighted because I think it’s the best album I have made for a long time.”
Written and recorded over three weeks at the end of 2023, who believes in angels? received elevated criticism criticisms, who called it “A delicate and flamboyant tearful“And one”high career“.
But the album had a difficult gestation, which was captured in a documentary of warts and of everything published on YouTube.
Sir Elton was seen slamming his headphones, crying out for his collaborators, tearing the words of songs and threatening to stop.
‘Bad behavior’
The star was “nervous” and “irritable”, in part because he recovered from a replacement of the hip, he said, but also because he worked in a new way-writing live in the studio with Carlile, producer Andrew Watt and the long-term lyricist Bernie Taupin.
“It was a huge challenge, bringing these four people together,” he told the BBC. “And the challenge was really at my feet.
“I was very nervous (because) I wanted the album to be held in a way, but you cannot always guarantee that this will be the case.
“I think that my nerves and insecurity and my doubt led to some bad moments of behavior, which was just a question of frustrations in me.”
Once they recorded the opening track, Laura Nyro’s rose, “everything has set up,” said Sir Elton.
“In two and a half weeks, we recorded 14 songs and finished them.”
The release of the album was delayed last year after a Eye infection has left the star with vision difficulties. Last week, he told Times that he could no longer watch his sons play rugby.

With the album finally released, there were special praise for the swing single for fences, which Carlile designed as a rallying call for the LGBTQ community.
“I am a gay woman, Elton is a gay man and we both have families, and our dreams have come true”, ” She said to the NME.
“I thought, wouldn’t it be cool to write a hymn for young gay children who call them in a larger, more elegant and more fabulous life? Just like” Come on! Don’t let anything hold anything! “”
“This is a difficult period for LGBTQ +people,” Sir Elton told BBC News.
“As brandish wrote this word, she meant:” Listen, fight for yourself. Be proud of you who you are, never ashamed who you are, and you will win. “”
