Sony WF-C510 was introduced on the Indian market in September this year. It is at the lower end of Sony’s portable audio products. It does not support high -end audio codecs or active noise cancellation, which seems to be a popular functionality in almost all TWS headphones today. With its 6 mm pilots and up to 22 hours of total battery life, are they still worth your money? They are currently sold in the country at Rs. 4,990. So let’s determine if you should consider them when buying your next set of everyday headsets.
Sony WF-C510 Design and functionality: simple and efficient
- Weight – 4.6 g (headphones); 31g (charge case)
- Water and dust resistance – IPX4 (headphones only)
- Colors – Black, Blue, Yellow and White
The Sony WF-C510 offers a comfortable intra-ear adjustment. The headphones are delivered with three earlier options in the box – small, medium and large. The default average size was the most compatible for me. The design of the earphone is similar to that of the Sony Linkbuds S but slightly smaller and lighter. Instead of touch sensors, there is a physical button at the top that we can press to control volume, playback and other features.

They are offered in black, blue, yellow and white colors. The case of pill in the form of a pill of the Sony WF-C510 is small enough to hold in the palm of your end or slip into the cowboy slot of your jeans. Weighing only 31 g, it is light and easy to transport, and because it has a flat bottom, it does not roll from the office. However, if you are outside or travel with him, the case attracts a good amount of dust. Usually, not much that cannot be dusted (or detected on jeans) but if you have one of the pastel shades, dust is not a good look.
The front of the Sony WF-C510 load case has a LED light, which flashes in green, amber and red, signaling the level of the battery. The top has the SONY brand engraved, while the back contains the USB type-C load port and the coupling button. In particular, there is no charge cable in the case, but that does not take into account disappointments. I was slightly relieved in fact, because we already have cables in Gogo to cope every day, and any old USB type-C cable in your home increases the business very well.
Sony WF-C510 application and specifications: Simple, without frills
- Driver – 6 mm
- Companion Application – Sony Sound Connect
- Gesture checks – Physical button (Press)
The Sony Sound Connect app that accompanies it is hassled and easy to use. You can make customizations of the usual press gestures and monitoring at the battery level. Although you can personalize your equalization parameters, you also have several presets to choose as brilliant, excited, soft, relaxed, vocal, treble, bass boost and speeches. The search for your equalizer on the application can also help you customize your EQ settings. With music in the background, this section of the application will offer you several variations in equalization in two sets. You can choose what you appreciate the most and the application will save your selection.
The Sound Connect application allows you to access Sony’s DSEE function
The Sony WF-C510 supports 360 Reality Audio which allows users to have a more immersive stereo sound experience. You will need an additional application for this optimization. These headphones carry 6 mm drivers and support Bluetooth 5.3 multi-point connectivity. Although they do not support higher audio codecs outside of SBC and AAC, the Sound Connect application allows you to access Sony DSEE. This increases the details of certain compressed audio files. You can also choose to prioritize audio quality via connectivity or vice versa via the application.
The Sony WF-C510 is delivered with an IPX4 note for splashing resistance, which makes it the perfect partner for your morning or evening visits or gymnasium because it can face a little sweat. They do not have an ANC support, which helps the battery life. However, adjustment offers a decent level of passive noise isolation.
Sony WF-C510 Performance and battery life: efficient and reliable
- Anc – no
- Battery life – up to 11 hours (only headphones) + up to 11 hours (load case)
- Quick load – Yes (claimed 5 minutes up to 1 hour)
- Bluetooth – 5.3 (SBC, AAC)
The adjusted adjustment of the Sony WF-C510 offers an adequate quantity of passive noise isolation to drown most atmospheric disturbances. Even without any music, you can always hear the weak whirlwind of the fan, but television playing in the room will not bother you as much. If you have music or podcast, there is not much external noise that interrupts your experience. However, there is a mode of transparency called its ambient that you can switch to the application or via the button on the headphones. It uses the microphone on headphones to let atmospheric noise pass. It is practical if you are outside and want to be more aware of your environment.
Load connectors are placed inwards
The Sony WF-C510 presents a rich and dynamic sound experience to you. You can change the sound to adapt to your preference using a five -band equalizer outside the predefined options. For bass lovers, there is a separate light bass slider that can help hit the desirable punch on a given track. The DSEE mode (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) can still improve the detail of each song, in particular slightly muddy mediums, although at the price of a battery life. You can enjoy all the subtleties of the blackmore Ritchie guitar jam with Jon Lord on the organs of Deep Purple’s Child in Time Track. You get an immersive and sound trip even with the anchored and balanced groove of the Kaytranda witch with a childish gambino or the trapping and booming song of Tony Montana by Agust D.
The Sony WF-C510 connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3 and it supports Google Fast Pairling. So, as soon as you open the case near your Android device, the torque option appears. This is a simple process. Since they support multi-point connectivity, you need to press the torque button for a long time to couple it with the second device. Make sure the option “Connect to 2 peripherals simultaneously” is activated from the Sound Connect application. Once connected, you can switch transparently between the two devices without considerable lag. In particular, the headphones do not have an intra-ear detection function, so even if you remove them, the music track or the video continues to play and only disconnects once in the case.
Coming to the battery life, I have no scruples with the Sony WF-C510 except maybe the charge case, which should offer up to 11 hours of use, could give more hours. With the ambient sound mode, only the headphones can operate up to 10.5 hours on a single load by playing AAC. If you add the Modification of DSEE, the battery life falls to a little more than eight hours. With the ambient sound mode, without desee, they offer a reading time of about six hours. The headphones support a fast load function which feeds up to an hour of use in just five minutes. The charging box, using a USB type-C cable, can be fully loaded with zero in two hours and forty-seven minutes.

Sony WF-C510: Verdict
The Sony WF-C510 are a good pair of TWS headphones at RS. 4 990. A lower range of Sony headphones without an anchor initially made me skeptical about the sound quality. However, setting these helmets does not leave much room for the complaint. Associated with the Companion application, you can customize the equalization settings and bass levels and even adjust and improve details with DSEE. The light and comfortable adjustment of these headphones also goes very far, especially if you intend to use them as everyday pair. The more than 10 hours of play on the headphones are also rare and a welcome change in the sea of the headphones of the ANC (allowing the ANC to drain the battery faster). A larger charge case could probably give us a little more lifespan of the additional battery.
If the ANC is one of your rupture criteria, of course, you need to look elsewhere. The CMF Buds Pro 2 are a good choice, at Rs. 4,299. You will get up to 50 dB of ANC, up to 43 hours of total battery life and the integration of the battery with the Companion Nothing X application. You can also opt for the OnePlus Buds 3 (review), at a slightly higher price of RS. 5,499. Total, you will also get support for the LHDC audio codec and dust resistance and IP55 water.
