
Nora AUNOR, one of the most famous film stars in the Philippines, died at the age of 71.
On Wednesday, Aunor’s death was announced by his children on social networks, but no other details were provided on his death.
“She touched the generations with her talent, her grace and her passion unequaled for the machine. Her voice, her presence and her artistic talent have shaped a heritage that will never fade,” said her daughter and actor Lotlot de Leon on Instagram.
Born into a poor family in the city of Iriga, Aurnor has established a career in television, music and cinema for seven decades. She was appointed national artist for the arts of cinema and broadcasting in 2022 – the highest distinction of the Philippines for the arts.
She became celebrity as a singer in the 1960s before moving to the screen, where she has raised more than 200 credits in cinema and television.
One of his most memorable performances was in The Flor Contempion Story in 1995, a film on a Philippine maid executed by Singapore for having assassinated her colleague assistant domestic.
AUNOR won local and international awards for its performance, as well as dozens of other acting honors during his career.

She was married to the Philippin actor Christopher from Leon from 1975 to 1996 and had five children.
His son Kristofer Ian de Leon remembered his mother as an “unconditional source of love” in an article on Facebook.
“She was the heart of our family. Her kindness, her wisdom and her beautiful spirit touched all those who knew her,” he wrote.
AUNOR was recently seen in the 2024 LILET MATIAS television series, lawyer and filmed a special cameo for the Isang Himala musical.
