Customs and border protection of the United States seem to contradict the comments of President Donald Trump about the daily income generated by his last list of rates.
The agency said in a statement to CNBC on Monday: “Since April 5, CBP has raised more than $ 500 million under the new reciprocal rates, contributing to more than $ 21 billion in income of total rates of 15 presidential commercial actions implemented since January 20, 2025.”
The update occurs after a 10 -hour failure in the finance system prevented importers from entering a code that would have exempted the load that was already in the water subject to the highest tasks.
“Even during the brief bankrupt, the average income flow of $ 250 million/CBP day remained uninterrupted,” CBP said in his statement.
Trump has repeatedly said that the United States is raising $ 2 billion per day of tariffs, including income directly resulting from its so -called “reciprocal” tariffs.
The most recent data published Monday by the Treasury Department show the daily declaration of total deposits of the department listed in “Customs and certain special taxes” such as $ 305 million. All rates are collected by US customs at the point of entry.
In early April, the Trump administration imposed tariffs pronounced to dozens of countries. Hours later, most rates rates to 10%universal fell, except tariffs in China, which increased. Meanwhile, the Administration maintained specific tariffs in the sector in the automotive industry and is expected to announce new commercial policies for the pharmaceutical industry.
