ITV announced that its ITVBE channel would close in June 2025 and will be replaced by a new channel focused on quiz and game broadcasts.
Launched in 2014, ITVBE was mainly the home of reality and unicenized programs, as the only means of Essex (Towie).
Reality TV shows are currently broadcast on the channel, including Towie and the Real Housewives franchise, will now go to ITV2, the broadcaster said.
It has not been announced which programs will populate the calendar for ITV Quiz.
However, the network said that it planned to use the chain niche to “draw on quiz and game game and game game emissions from ITV market”.
Popular shows and game shows broadcast on ITV include The Chase, Tipping Point, Who Want to Be a Millionaire ?, The 1% Club, Deal or No Deal, Catchphrase and Jeopardy!.
ITV said that Towie’s move to ITV2 would mark a return for the program, while the program was originally launched on this network in 2010.
The visualization of the show figures has dropped in recent years, but its transition to ITV2 could give a boost to the notes.
The diffuser said Towie was one of the most popular titles on his ITVX streaming service.
He added that programs such as Towie and Real Housewives would be at home alongside other reality formats of the network, including Love Island and Big Brother.
