The race around the world strengthens the link between sussex

Two sisters participating in the race around the world said that participating in the difficult competition has strengthened their fraternal link.

Elizabeth and Letitia, from West Sussex, run four other China teams at India in the fifth series of the reality show, which was launched Wednesday on BBC1.

“Doing it like this is something unexpected, unimaginable and a unique opportunity,” Elizabeth told BBC Radio Sussex.

“It was a different way of trying to bond with a brother, for sure,” added the 33 -year -old man.

Letitia, 26, admitted that they “did not really take it seriously” when they applied to participate in the program, but quickly wondered if they were able to finish the race.

“We have already looked at him and I thought” we can do it, we like to travel, “added Elizabeth.

“But in fact, doing it and being together 24/7, trying to make decisions together, is another story.”

The competition saw the teams travel more than 8,700 miles (14,000 km), from the large wall of China and crossing China, Nepal and India without flights or smartphones.

Applicants can only spend the cash equivalent of a plane ticket between departure and arrival points, but winners win a price of £ 20,000.

“Every day, we are surprised, just being put in situations where you had to make difficult decisions,” said Letitia.

She added that, although the pair was “very different”, they were able to use it at their benefit in the race.

“We have completed along the way,” she said.

“But sometimes, while we swallowed, some of the differences brought a conflict with which we had to face.”
