What’s new
Texas Instruments (IT) introduced the first functionally isolated modulators from the industry, helping designers to achieve more precise motor control in compact robots designs. The new amc0106m05, AMC0136 and AMC0106m25 isolated modulators allow greater accuracy and a greater resolution of 12 to 14 effective bits number (ENOB) for the precise and reliable phase current sensation and the CC voltage voltage detection measurements. Offered in a small column package, the new products in the Digital Analog Analysis Portfolio (ADC) of IT help the designers of the soft torque portfolio and fine motor control, while decrease the size and cost in low -voltage robotics designs (<60V).
Why does it matter
Today’s engineers have the challenge of designing smart robots to perform more detailed tasks. Galvanically isolated modulators allow robotics engineers to achieve precise motor control and system protection in smaller and sophisticated designs. This precision makes it possible for robots to complete a variety of complex tasks, such as threading a needle or handling small nuts and bolts. In addition, the small size of the new modulators, which mediate only 3.5 mm x 2.7 mm, requires 50% less space in the plate than competent reinforced insulation solutions. With this decrease in size, designers have more space to incorporate additional characteristics that admit precise control and reliable operation in compact robot applications.
“These IT modulators allow designers Karthik Vasanth, vice president and general manager of data and clock converters. “For example, where humanoid robots previously could only complete simple tasks, our new functionally isolated modulators now allow them to carry out more right and precise work.”

Availability
The production amounts of the new functionally isolated modulators are now available on you.com in a very thin small (VSON) 8 -pin line pack. To admit designers, evaluation modules are available for the three modulators, as well as reference designs and simulation models.
