The Flyadelfia Flyers coach John Tortorella is putting responsibility after the team’s tail continues.
The fallen flyers suffered a Tuesday 7-2 at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs and are a worse of League 1-8-1 in their last 10 games.
Tortorella told journalists after the game that it is his work to prepare the team for this type of situations, and that he has not done a job good enough during his last games.
“This falls on me,” Tortorella said. “I am not really interested in learning to train in this type of season where we are now, but I have to do a better job.
“So this falls on me, prepare the team to play in the right way until we reach the end.”
Tortorella is a ninth in the list of all time among the coaches and guided Tampa Bay Lightning to the Stanley Cup in 2004. However, Philadelphia has not yet reached the playoffs in their three seasons behind the bank.
The Flyers (28-36-5) are 10 points of a cunning place with nine remaining games in the regular season.
Philadelphia returns to action on Thursday at home against the Montreal Canadiens.
