Trump said China also wants to reach an agreement on rates.
Washington:
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Wednesday that he had decided to stop reciprocal tariffs for 90 days for those countries that do not retaliate, while increasing tariffs on China, which announced more reprisal rates.
He acknowledged that people were “a little scared” on the rates and was “jumping a little out of place”, but repeated their belief that trade agreements would be reached with many countries eventually, including China.
“China wants to get to a deal. They just don’t know how to do it … President XI (Jinping) is a proud man … They don’t know how to do it, but they will solve it,” he said.
