Prince of Persia: The crown lost has exceeded 2 million players, Ubisoft said in a brief announcement. The news occurs approximately 15 months after the launch of Lost Crown in January 2024, and Ubisoft seems to be causing a brilliant future for the series.

However, what Ubisoft has reserved for the prince of Persia is a assumption of anyone. The company dissolved the Lost Crown development team in October 2024 because of the lowest sales of what is addressed, although those who worked in the game were dragged to different parts of Ubisoft and not fired. It is worth noting that 2 million players are not the same as 2 million sales. The lost crown was available in Ubisoft+, the Ubisoft subscription service, and has also been part of the most extra and premium PS.
The lost crown launched the generalized praise of critics, including Steve Watts of Gamespot, who called it “so safe and impeccably elaborate that this should simply be the identity of the prince of Persia in the predictable future.” According to the reports, Ubisoft rejected the ideas for a sequel to the lost crown before breaking the development team, although the company never confirmed whether it was true.
Meanwhile, the remake Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remains in development, apparently on the way for its launch at some point in 2026. Ubisoft announced for the first time the project in 2020, although it was delayed several times, including an “indefinite delay” in 2021, and the development completely restarted in 2023.
