Beijing:
China asked the United States on Sunday to “completely” “its reciprocal tariffs after Washington announced exemptions for consumer electronics and the key joint manufacturing equipment.
“We urge the United States to … take a big step to correct their mistakes, completely cancel the wrong practice of ‘reciprocal tariffs’ and return to the right path of mutual respect,” said a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce in a statement.
A notice on Friday afternoon of the US Customs and Protection Office.
Beijing’s Ministry of Commerce said the exemptions were a “little step” by Washington and China was “evaluating the impact” of the decision.
It occurred when Chinese import rates of 125 percent retaliation in US goods entered into force on Saturday, and Beijing challenged its largest commercial partner.
Exemptions will benefit American technology companies such as NVIDIA and Dell, as well as Apple, which manufactures iPhones and other premium products in China.
Most Chinese products still face a tax of 145 percent after the country was excluded from a 90 -day rates postponement.
