Remember Trump’s absurd executive order Where did you try to tell the United States that now an identification of voters was required in all elections and that people were only allowed to vote for one day, and attacked early and by vote mail?

Several vote rights groups have joined to sue and make sure that Trump’s executive order does not win traction.

Announced campaign legal center:

Today, the Legal Campaign Center (CLC) and the State Democracy Defensor Fund (SDDF) sued the president’s executive office and members of the president’s cabinet (See here) In the name of the Latin American Citizens League (LULAC), the initiative of sequent families (SFI) and the Association of Students of Arizona (ASA), claiming that a recent executive order far exceeds its powers and threatens the freedom to vote for millions of Americans.

Voting is a guaranteed freedom and protected by the Constitution. The president does not have the legal authority to adopt new registration or voting requirements through an executive order that restricts access to that freedom for US citizens. These changes are antivoters in their nucleus and point out that the president and his administration intend to change the way we organize elections by illegally depriving US citizens. Through this executive order, the president is trying to act beyond his power and usurpate the role of Congress and states to establish his own electoral laws.
