Queenslander Adam Walton has reached the 16 round at Houston Open, but there was not so much joy for Rhinky Hijikata, Jordan Thompson and James Duckworth.

Hijikata, 24, suffered a defeat 6-2 4-6 6-3 against Chris Eubanks at his first departure at the Claycourt opening event of the season.
Previously, Duckworth was defeated 6-2 6-2 by the qualifier Colton Smith and Thompson expelled 4-6 6-4 6-3 by the wildcard Ethan Quinn.
Eubanks will play with the eighth sown Kei Nishikori from Japan or Mitchell Krueger below.
