Fans are currently invested in the history of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, but will the current game events continue in COD 2025?
This is that time of the year when Call of Duty fans begin to wait for an idea of what is still in the store for them.
For the first time in years, it seems that Black Ops 6 is doing a great job by keeping its inverted players, and many fans expect near content, such as the new map of Shattered Veil zombies.
But the time wheel stops for any game, and a new title of Call of Duty is inevitable. The early leaks report that Treyarch will be in the driver’s seat once again for COD 2025, so is it possible that this year’s launch can continue the history of zombies?
Call of Duty 2025 Zombies
It is worth noting that Activision has not yet revealed any detail about Call of Duty 2025, including the confirmation of the long -standing rumor that Treyarch is developing.
The leaks also suggest that COD 2025 is established to be a sequel to Black Ops 2, a game that was actually established in 2025.
With that in mind, we can expect a gap of more than 30 years of the Black Ops 6 zombies events, which hinders the configuration of a direct sequel.
However, other leaks have had much to say about the plans for zombies in this year’s title:
The original crew returns
In October 2024, Insider Gaming said that the crew of the original zombies could return in COD 2025. The site said that this news came from several sources that were invited to the first game tests of the next title.
Zombies fans for a long time will remember that the last time we saw Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki and Edward Richtofen all together on the Black Ops 3 revelation map.
Since 2016, only Richtofen has returned, resurfaceing at the end of the zombies of the Cold War and establishing the events of the history of Black Ops 6 zombies.
Could the other original members of the zombies crew somehow return and remain part of the history of Black Ops 6? Well, it’s not as simple as that.
The reason why ‘Eddie’ Richtofen was able to return was because he was reborn in a child’s body at the end of the origins. Then, at the end of the Zombies Black Ops 4, Eddie and Samantha Maxis are the only two beings that go to the new universe, while the rest of the multiverse is destroyed.
It is confusing but, in theory, the only way we could play, since the original crew would be somewhere in its repetitive cycle, unless Treyarch wants to write to the characters in history in another way.
Map configuration
Another interesting filtration of Insider Gaming, this time as of March 2025, reported that there will be six round maps that will arrive at Call of Duty 2025.
Among these are a series of adventurous scenarios, such as a map set in New York after World War II after a Nazi nuclear bomb attack, a Japanese temple located at the base of an active volcano or a space station inside the dark ether.
If this leak is correct, maybe Treyarch is looking to get away from the most ‘founded’ history seen in the Zombies Black Ops 6, which (from season 3) presents two maps set in a city of Western Virginia.
The filtration also reports that the ways of pain and outbreak will return at the launch of this year, but we remember having heard something similar about last year’s title.
It is worth mentioning that the story of Black Ops 6 technically already continued with the events of Modern Warfare 3 Zombies (also known as MWZ). There, we saw the biological daughter of Samantha Maxis investigating the events of Liberty Falls.
Therefore, we believe that Treyarch is likely to continue the current story, even if he moves away from her at the launch of this year. After all, we finally get more content in the history of chaos after 7 years of waiting!
