There is a slightly complicated story behind my ‘meeting’ Suze’s Suze’s Reading Club. We are both members of a Facebook group where they recently interviewed me, having asked to model some clothes related to the books, and we realized that we had common books.
When I discovered that Suze directs a reading group, I was interested in obtaining more information and fortunately he agreed to appear for Linda bag To answer some questions. Let’s find out more.
An interview with Suze
Welcome Linda bag Suze We met indirectly through Facebook and I know you can lead Suze’s Reading Club. Can you tell me a little about what you do?
Tutor to students with reading and writing through ONE online sessions and I also execute an online reading club for children and an adult.
And why did you configure it?
I am passionate about reading and writing, and the importance of literacy in our lives, and I wanted to help children with these skills. Also full -time work as a librarian in a high school and I have responsibility for literacy, so my business is a natural extension of what I already enjoy!
Bright! I used to be a literacy consultant, so I completely understand the importance of literacy. How does the club work?
My reading clubs are for children from 7 to 11 years old. They run in the medium term, for five or six consecutive weeks. Most of the reading is completed outside the sessions, and we meet once a week to discuss the book, its themes, characters and plot and complete pleasant activities based on our weekly approach. It is a great motivator for children fighting for reading without approach and children enjoy gathering to discuss books. I have some children who are still in my reading club since I started my business more than two years ago!
You have clubs for adults and children. Why do you think it is important to include both?
I love reading and I felt it was important to offer an adult reading club too. My adult reading club is ideal for motivating people to find the time to read and my readers enjoy meeting with other people with related ideas about books. It is lovely to be part of an online reading community!
Do members have to buy books?
Yes. We read a book every month and members can choose how they read. We are all different! Some members read printed books, some read in Kindle and others prefer the audiobook. It only depends on what works for you! Many of my readers buy used books, so the reading club is very affordable. The three -month membership is currently £ 18 and this includes the authors and access to a WhatsApp book chat group. I am also offering a first free trial session.
What happens if the authors want to appear in the club?
We have author meetings. We vote for our book every month, but I also invite the authors to join us a few months. We expect three author meetings in the next two months. It’s great that readers have the opportunity to meet and chat with the author of the book they just read!
Sounds great. However, it’s not just reading what you support, right?
Also support to write and currently work with 6-18 students in all aspects of writing, from hand writing to score, grammar and creative writing.
How can blog readers get involved in their reading clubs?
Visit my Facebook page to get a taste of my offers. You can also send me a WhatsApp message or send me a message in Messenger through my Facebook page.
What advice would you give others thinking about doing something similar?
Go for it! I feel very lucky to be able to do what I love! It is a pleasure to work with some incredible students, families and adult readers.
And when you are not involved in running Suze’s reading club, what do you like to read?
I read many thrillers and mysteries and I am currently reading my eleventh book of 2025. I have set a good goal to read 25 books in 2025! I am currently enjoying The mysterious guest For nita prose.
I also enjoy Nita Prose’s books. Thank you very much for telling me more about Suze’s reading club and good luck with what comes next. This sounds a great idea.
