The stars of X-Men Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart resume their roles by joining the distribution of the next Avengers of Marvel: Doomsday.
The film is expected to be released in May 2026, with Robert Downey Jr already announced as playing the bad Doctor Doom.
Sir Ian did not appear as Magneto since the X-Men: Days of Future Past of 2014. Sir Patrick, meanwhile, resumed his teacher Charles Xavier for the last time in Doctor Strange in the multiverse of Madness in 2022.
Marvel Studios apparently listed the casting of the new film by Video showing a row of chairs with names on the back.
In addition to Sir Ian and Sir Patrick, other names included Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Mackie.
They were joined by Florence Pugh, who plays Yelena Belova, and Simu Liu, who plays Shang-Chi.
There were also chairs for Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, David Harbor and Kelsey Grammer.
Members of the next Restart Fantastic Four of this year, including the last American actor Pedro Pascal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach de Bear, joined them.
Channing Tatum, who appeared as a character of X-Men Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine, is also named.
Last summer, Downey Jr was revealed To return to the Marvel cinematographic universe after five years – but not to the role of Iron Man who launched the successful franchise.
At Comic Con in San Diego, Downey Jr appeared on stage hidden behind the emblematic mask of Doctor Doom and Green Cloak before revealing himself to fans.
Addressing journalists, he said: “I like to play complicated characters.”
The 59 -year -old man played a decisive role in launching the world of film Marvel, with his first film Iron Man in 2008.
He appeared for the last time in a Marvel film in Avengers: Endgame of 2019.
The American actor won an Oscar for his role in Oppenheimer last year.
