The grass could actually be greener on the other side.
According to a recent study, more and more Americans are opting for what many call a peaceful and quiet life without children.
A team of researchers from Michigan State University discovered that the number of people in the United States who deliberately choose children has doubled in the last two decades.
Previous investigations hinted that many Americans are opting for a life free of children; However, “these new results confirm that this is part of a national trend that has been developed for more than 20 years,” said Zachary Neal, a professor of MSU psychology and co -author of the study.

According to team findings, the percentage of non -parents who do not want to attract children to this world increased from 14% in 2002 to 29% in 2023.
“During the same period, the percentage of not parents who plan to have children in the future fell from 79% to 59%,” said Jennifer Watling Neal, professor of the Department of Psychology of MSU and co -author of the study.
The investigation did not declare the specific reasons why Americans do not want children, but based on things like the state of the world, the volatile economy and the desire for a life of freedom, there are probably a series of reasons why adults do not want to procreate.
And people are not shy when it comes to publishing on social networks about their decision to live this lifestyle.
The content creator Danni Duncan has several videos on his Tiktok page regarding the subject.
In a subtitled video, “Only a girl free of childhood”, many people in the comments section agreed with their lifestyle or envied it.
“The tranquility … peace … I love this. Thank you for this is so affirmative. Free of children for life,” a person wrote.
“Like someone in the trenches with a small child, I must say that I love to live indirectly through this type of content. Your mornings look so peaceful,” a commentator shared.
“Look at all the lovely things that you can at the height of the waist because you don’t have to worry about sticky jam,” said one of the parents.
While Duncan received positive comments, for the most part, in his decision not to have children, others faced a violent reaction for it.
A New Yorker named Natalie faced intense criticism online when people called her “selfish” for not taking children.
“I listen to the question, ‘Who will take care of you when you are older?’ A lot.
“You should not have children just to make sure that someone takes care of yourself later in life, is a great burden to impose them.
