Mom says that uber driver went to the child still

I was scared.

A Canadian mother was horrified after an Uber driver accidentally moved with her daughter still inside, and the shared travel company supposedly refused to help. The distressing incident detailed in a long Facebook publication that came out online.

“What happened to us was not just a terrifying experience; it was a complete breakdown in basic security, responsibility and human decency,” said Julia Viscomi. “Uber chose the policy about my daughter’s life.”

Toronto’s native had been taking an Uber with his five -year -old daughter Amelia, along with three other children and an adult, at 11 pm, when the Tyke fell asleep at the back of the car.

Unfortunately, due to the seat agreement, with the other passengers blocking their doors daughter, Viscomi had to wait for everyone else to go out so that he could recover it.

Upon reaching its destination, the Canuck declared its intentions out loud so that the vehicle operator could listen to it.

Despite his vocal ad, the driver could not pay attention to his discharge of responsibility. “Before he could get Amelia, the driver took off. With Amelia still inside,” said the horrible father.

He found the particularly frightening error. The “exit plan communicated aloud and clearly right next to the driver” and “there was no language barrier,” he said.

Horrified, Viscomi contacted Uber driver, but they can’t contact them. When he tried to communicate with the company, they supposedly refused to lend a hand.

“They refused to contact the driver. I begged them,” said the anguished mother. He subsequently contacted the authorities, which was asked to provide “a recent photo” of Amelia for what was supposed to be an Amber Alert, a moment that described the “worst experience” of his entire life.

Although the police insisted that Uber contacted the driver, they refused with the argument that he was “out of his policy,” by Viscomi.

As a result, “(my daughter) was alone in the dark, with a stranger, terrified and confused,” the Canadian lamented.

It was not until an hour after the police finally managed to track her.

To make things worse, Uber refused to make peace and simply offered him an automated $ 10 credit for his problems.

Viscomi said that the company finally offered “an insultingly low agreement”, but “has refused to admit any failure of its systems” or “have internal discussions about policy change.”

“I have spent the last 5 weeks trying to solve this in silence and respectfully directly with Uber,” he said. “I have been patient, quiet and professional. But Uber still refuses to take true responsibility.”

“This was not time for bureaucratic bureaucracy,” Viscomi added. “His life was in danger and Uber refused to help.”

The worried father is now using the terrible traumatic experience as a warning story for other parents who think about reserving a trip with the company.

“All parents deserve to know that if something goes wrong during a trip, the company they trusted will act, it will not hide behind politics,” he warned in the Facebook PSA. “It’s not just my daughter. It’s about every family who uses these platforms waiting for them to do the right thing in an emergency.

Since then, Uber representatives have approached the incident.

“We recognize how distressing this situation was for the family involved and we are grateful for the child to meet their parents safely,” they told The Post. “We immediately begin to review the details of this incident internally to identify opportunities to improve our support processes and systems. The safety of all those who use Uber remains our top priority.”

According to the Uber website security section, “Uber support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is managed by a team of trained security agents.”

“If you are immediately in danger, you should always contact the authorities first,” they added. “The police can request data through our online public security portal.”
