Imagine this: he is about to complete what is potentially the greatest milestone of his life so far, something that has worked so hard for months or even years. Then, suddenly, someone close to you, maybe your boyfriend or husband, interrupts you just before you can do it.
Of course, thought was there. They wanted to celebrate with you at the time! But, they have not only thrown you completely and have done so, or the two, instead of only you, but have been ashamed in front of millions of people on the Internet.
If you have not experienced this yourself (I hope you have not), you are likely to be thinking of a particular video that you have seen online. I can’t tell you which one, because for some reason there are multiple. Ladies, it’s time to stand up.

Has happened again
This week, a woman named Daphne de Kreek went viral on Tiktok with a video of her running the Rotterdam marathon.
In the clip, Daphne is approaching the finish line, when some of his friends and family join her on the track. Most of them leave her, do not touch her or hug her, simply run sideways, encouraging her. Well, except his partner, who grabs his face and comes to a kiss, which makes the speed decreases for a moment before he can continue.
The video is positively subtitled, capturing what was clearly an exciting moment for Daphne.
“What experience and what support!” The title says, translated from Dutch.

“There were enough things against me and it took me almost an hour more than my goal was. But I did and enjoyed it!”
However, with more than four million opinions and the comments turned off, it is clear that not everyone agreed with their positive position.
Why do you have to steal your moment?
Although Daphne was able to continue and finish the race despite being momentarily arrested, for many people this would have been the drop that filled the glass. So close to the finish line, any corridor would be losing impulse, keeping at the moment that they can collapse in the arms of their loved ones, and that arriving early could have endangered anyone’s position.
And the frustrating thing is that this is not the first time we have seen this.
I dare to say that at this point many of us would be imagining the infamous video of a mother, in seconds to cross the finish line of a half marathon in Brazil, just for her husband to push her children to her way to congratulate her mother, although she had not yet ended.
She was about to have her moment, finally ending the race first, but her husband almost ruined him, shrugging his shoulders when she didn’t stop to hug her children.
And, last month, another clip went viral of a couple in Wales, of a woman who crossed the finish line of a marathon, just to see her now a knee, proposing.
Of course, at least he let her finish, but did she really have to steal her moment?
