Wawa has opened the store in Ohio.
The first location of the popular convenience store chain in the state of Buckeye celebrated its great inauguration on Wednesday morning at Liberty Township, not far from Cincinnati.
The great inauguration event, which took place on the 61st anniversary of Wawa, involved subsidies ads to “community partners”, a “Heroes Heroes Hoagie Building” contest and a tape cut, according to Wawa.
The new Liberty Township store racks the way for Wawa’s entrance to the west and adds another state to the company’s footprint.
It is the “first of the nine wawa stores scheduled to open in Ohio by the end of the year,” said Wawa.
“We are delighted to fly to Ohio and bring our unique combination of fresh food and drinks, convenience and service to new friends in the state of Buckeye,” said Wawa president Brian Schaller.
“This historical milestone begins the next chapter of our growth in the west, and we are delighted with the warm welcome we continue to receive from so many communities that we are now proud to count as part of the Wawa flock.”
Wawa estimated that about 2,000 new long -term jobs will arise for its planned general expansion in the state of Buckeye.
The convenience store is looking to open 45 to 55 stores in Ohio within the decade, with an opening rate in four to 10 new stores every year, Wawa said.
Each of the stores will require an investment of more than $ 7.5 million by Wawa, the company said.
Wawa, who has expanded rapidly in recent years, currently operates more than 1,100 locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Washington, DC, and, from Wednesday, Ohio, his state 10.
His ninth state was measured in November with a store in Bainbridge, Georgia.
Kentucky and Indiana will also obtain their first Wawa locations this year, with the first scheduled to see nine open and the second to receive 10, according to recent press releases from the company.
The company plans to carry its convenience stores to Tennessee and West Virginia in the future.
In October, Wawa placed number 1 in the ranking of the convenience stores of the American consumer index. He obtained an 82 outing score.
That helped him go up to the chains such as Quiktrip, BuC-EE and Murphy USA, who held the number 2, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, according to the ACSI.
